Preparations

Later after being shown the barracks and fed lunch Natalia was able to ask more questions and sort of get answers from Sue. Sue told her the minimal necessary about herself: she is an alien, though how she is currently dressed she does not appear to be any different than a human - physically - Sue said that she only looks human while wearing clothing. Natalia was not sure if she wanted to see what she looked like naked. Her species has telepathic abilities. This is how she knows people’s names before she is properly introduced. Sue told her more about the others Natalia learned that that dog-man she saw earlier was named Earl and was going to go with them… wherever they are going to be going. Sue learned many things during that lunch with Sue. Sue explained how the organization was arranged. The benefactor did not start this place up it was already in motion when he took over it - it was a family business. His family started taking care of the stranded alien several generations back. This place was run by money gained through a false charity for illegal aliens (nowadays, it changes every so often or else people will want to see what they are sponsoring). This current charity was one for illegal aliens in the past it has been for orphans and stuff like that.

After lunch Natalia had a pretty good idea about what her parents did and it was very different from what they told her - research scientist for the nearby university. That was not too far off but it definitively explained why they never took her to work with them. Natalia just spent the rest of the day meeting the crew and the search party. Earl was very friendly despite the fact that he looked mean. Earl took over Natalia from Sue and gave her the “official” tour of the building. There was only one normal sized floor the rest were twice the size of a normal sized floor. This was apparently to accommodate some rather large members of the organization. So there were three huge floors and one normal one. The normal one was the barracks. The rather large individuals had their own space on the first floor. She didn’t get to meet them, yet. One of the crew was the mate of Shelia, whom she had met earlier that day. He looked much the same as she did, though his tail was forked and hers was not. His name was Rob. Apparently these human names were similar to their actual names in the sense that they sound similar - most of their names are unpronounceable by human standards. They spoke English to the best of their abilities but most had a translator. Rob was a bit off in human terms - he seemed a bit crazy. But anything that is not human will seem a bit crazy to a human.

The rest of the crew was working on the ship, preparing it for the upcoming adventure. So Natalia hadn’t met them yet. She was informed that they would be leaving early in the morning from a secure take-off location so she needed to sleep now and they would wake her when it was time to leave.
